The Director Induction Course

The role of Director is an important one. Induction to any new role is essential to properly understand it; especially when your new role is that of Company Director! Our course will guide you through the structure and operation of the OMC and then consider the duties and obligations of the OMC company officers. Giving you a firm grounding to act with confidence.

Instructor - Dean Regan BL, is an experienced corporate governance and business ethics lecturer and is a practising barrister in the area of management company litigation. A sole practitioner, he has advised and represented Owners' Management Companies at all levels of litigation and dispute resolution for the past ten years. Mr Regan has extensive expertise in regulatory advise, service charge recovery, public liability and common area transfer issues. Mr Regan is a member of the Bar of Ireland.
Outcomes -
By the end of the workshop participants will:
- Appreciate the function and objectives of the Owners' Management Company
- Discuss the daily operations and management of the OMC and its common areas
- Understand the legal responsibilities arising under the Companies Act, 2014, and the Multi-unit Development Act, 2011;
- Know the important role the Director and Company Secretary play in the governance of an OMC.
- Consider the role of the AGM in company management and how it is set and run.
