Common areas, Legal Liability and Ownership (CPD Certified)
This workshop will examine common areas management, liability claims, and what to do where the transfer of the common areas to the OMC has not occurred. Participants will be guided through the Occupiers' Liability Act and the obligations in respect of common area transfer and the consequences for non-transfer.
This talk will provide participants with information and training on the liabilities arising from common areas, the responsibility for same and what to do where the transfer of the common areas from the developer to the management company has not taken place. Participants will be guided through the liability which arises to the management company under the Occupiers' Liability Act and the obligations of developers in respect of common area transfer.

Instructor - Dean Regan BL, is an experienced corporate governance and business ethics lecturer and is a practising barrister in the area of management company litigation. A sole practitioner, he has advised and represented Owners' Management Companies at all levels of litigation and dispute resolution for the past ten years. Mr Regan has extensive expertise in regulatory advise, service charge recovery, public liability and common area transfer issues. Mr Regan is a member of the Bar of Ireland.
